Welcome to Fondation 2100 under the aegis of Fondation CNRS

“Anticipating the 21st century. This is the motto of Fondation 2100, focused on century-long foresight.

Humanity is facing many challenges, whether environmental, social, technological or demographic. It is important to understand their origins and, as far as possible, to foresee their consequences. Anticipating them will enable us to improve people’s living conditions.

Foresight – that ” which is oriented towards the future “, ” which anticipates the future “* – responds precisely to this concern. It was in this spirit that the Fondation 2100 was born in 2016, created by Jean-Éric Aubert and Thierry Gaudin, experts in foresight and innovation policies. It follows in the French tradition of visionary and humanist engineers.

Fondation 2100 rests on three pillars: research, persuasion and transmission. In particular, it supports the development of academic activities and promotes global programs to meet the challenges of the century.

Last January, the CNRS Foundation welcomed the 2100 Foundation under its aegis. The latter’s missions resonate perfectly with the objectives of the CNRS, whose researchers are committed to improving future prospects by broadening the scope of knowledge.

Foresight is a key element of contemporary research, and the CNRS Foundation is proud to support such an approach.
