Created by the CNRS on the occasion of its 80th anniversary, the Foundation’s mission is to contribute to the development and promotion of the CNRS, and more generally of scientific and technological research in France and worldwide.
It focuses on financing fundamental research projects that are exploratory, risky or high-stakes and require rapid assistance, and on attracting and developing new talent. It funds scientific prizes.
Over €2.5 million has already been committed to support more than 30 research projects since its creation, on topics such as climate change, health and the environment, energy transition, the city of tomorrow ….
