Last month, we had the pleasure of introducing you to the GEOMANUM Foundation (Geography, Humanity and the Digital Age) under the aegis of the CNRS Foundation. Today, it is launching its website, enabling you to find out more about the project.
On the initiative of Erwan Bocher, CNRS research engineer, the companies Breizh Mapping and Intermezzothe GEOMANUM Foundation announces that its ” ambition is to develop research in the field of Geographic Information Sciences, in order to assess and anticipate the impact of human societies on the climate and the environment, and to support the ecological transition in the territories. “These are themes largely supported and relayed by the CNRS.
Firmly committed to a policy of open and participatory science, the Foundation is supporting the development of GeoClimate, a free software program that evaluates “the influence of the organization of a territory’s geography on climate and the environment”. the influence of the organization of a territory’s geography on its climate and environment. “This tool was designed by a CNRS team at LAB-STICC, based at the Université de Bretagne-Sud in Vannes.
