The Agroecology project in the Armorique workshop area

Timothée Fouqueray is a post-doctoral researcher at the CNRS. He proposes to use a spatialized prospective modeling approach to assess the relevance of regulatory land management tools for the agro-ecological transition of intensive agricultural landscapes. His work is based in the Armorique Workshop Zone (covering Ille-et-Vilaine). Its specificity lies in the fact that it focuses on landscapes through a dual legal and ecological approach.

The first year of the project has enabled us to forge closer links with land stakeholders in Brittany, with the aim of holding participatory workshops in autumn 2024 to rethink and improve land use.

The next stage of the project will involve the production of a prospective map of farm expansion due to the large number of farmers retiring. This map will serve as the basis for a second phase of participatory workshops, with farmers and elected representatives, to explore different options for land policies to help maintain grasslands in dairy farming landscapes.
