To mark Biodiversity Week, the village of Médréac, near Rennes, is organizing
the “Secrets de Nature” event in partnership with the CNRS Foundation.
Secrets de Nature is designed to provide information about our natural environment, so that we can better protect it, at
using a constructive educational and scientific approach, bringing together local knowledge and
scientific knowledge.
The event is based on an original set-up: the reconstruction of a TV set hosted by a professional presenter
, with a succession of speakers and mini-reports. In this format, Secrets
de Nature offers conferences, meetings, exhibitions and festive screenings
open to all.
For this first edition devoted to the ” travelling plants of Brittany “, scientists
Yves-Marie Allain (former director of the Jardin des Plantes in Paris) and Emilie Stoll (anthropologist at
CNRS/Patrimoines locaux, environnement et globalisation -PALOC) will be talking to people from
the field: local elected representatives, amateur gardeners, market gardeners, farmers
, schoolteachers …
The CNRS Foundation wishes every success to this original initiative.
