Flora Artzner, top-level athlete, ambassador for the Science4Reefs Foundation under the aegis of the CNRS Foundation

We are delighted to welcome Flora Artzner, a top-level athlete, as an ambassador for the Science4Reefs Foundation under the aegis of the CNRS Foundation.

Flora Artzner is an engineer, world wingfoil champion and very committed to protecting nature. She decided to support the project of her former colleagues at the Centre de Recherches Insulaires et Observatoire de l’Environnement (CRIOBE), researchers Laetitia Hédouin and Serge Planes, and their foundation.

The Science4Reefs Foundation, based in Moorea, Polynesia, was created to participate in the development of research work offering new solutions to limit the loss of coral reef biodiversity in the face of environmental change.

The Foundation’s missions are :

– help coral reef research by supporting long-term, high-risk or exploratory scientific themes;

– promote a better understanding of coral reefs in the Anthropocene era and solutions for effective conservation; and

– create a Science-Policy Interface for coral reefs to inform decision-making choices in national and international policies to safeguard reef biodiversity.
