CNRS Gold Medal 2023

Yesterday, December 20, 2023, at a ceremony at the Maison de la Chimie in Paris, the CNRS Gold Medal was awarded to CNRS ecologist Sandra Lavorel, a pioneer in defining and analyzing the services provided by biodiversity to human societies. Sandra Lavorel’s interdisciplinary work regularly informs land-use planning and biodiversity management policies.

Since 2022, the CNRS Foundation has endowed this medal with 50,000 euros. Michel Mortier, Managing Director of the CNRS Foundation, was pleased to present the cheque to the winner at the ceremony.
