Climate and environmental issues are at the heart of current debates and concerns.<\/strong> Rising temperatures, soil and air pollution and the disruption of ecosystems are causing serious, irreversible changes. As a result, safeguarding biodiversity is becoming a key issue, and one that politicians are addressing through scientific research. <\/span><\/p>\n

The French government is committed to this approach, promoting <\/span>five pillars of biodiversity<\/a> protecting ecosystems and certain emblematic and endangered species, limiting the consumption of space and preserving environments, taking into account the link between health and the environment, preserving the sea and coastline, and enabling the transition of our production and consumption models. <\/span> <\/p>\n

Naturally, the CNRS Foundation is involved in these initiatives and supports biodiversity-related research projects.<\/strong> Examples abound: the study of Alpine ecosystems, biodiversity in the Amazon, avian fauna in the Arctic, African primates and coral reefs. CNRS researchers, based in France and around the world, are rigorously studying these issues to find solutions. <\/span><\/p>\n

At the same time, the CNRS Foundation houses the <\/span>Rescue Ocean Foundation<\/a> whose missions revolve around the protection and sustainable reconstruction of oceans, seas and rivers<\/strong>. Their awareness-raising initiatives focus on educating the younger generation and raising awareness of harmful human behavior. Biodiversity plays a key role in their discourse. <\/span><\/p>\n

Similarly, the GEOMANUM Foundation<\/a>, under the aegis of the CNRS Foundation, is committed to ” serving the ecological transition and adapting to climate change<\/em> “<\/strong> through the use of geographic information, with a view to developing responses to major environmental and social challenges.<\/span><\/p>\n
