L&#8217;\u00e9quipe y a d\u00e9couvert l&#8217;interaction entre CDK10 et Cycline M, mis au jour l&#8217;activit\u00e9 enzymatique du complexe, et contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 la caract\u00e9risation du syndrome Al Kaissi.   <\/span><span style=\"text-align: justify; text-indent: 35.4pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; color: black;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>Classified as rare diseases,<\/strong> STAR and Al Kaissi syndromes cause severe developmental disorders that result in a constellation of anatomical and functional anomalies (fused fingers, abnormally large distance between the eyes, renal, ano-genital and skeletal anomalies, cognitive deficits, <em>etc.<\/em>).<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>This research was supported by the CNRS Foundation<\/strong>, with the backing of Groupama Loire Bretagne, which works with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fondation-groupama.com\/\">Groupama Foundation<\/a> to combat rare diseases.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>Thanks to this support, research will be able to progress in three main areas:<\/strong> identification of proteins phosphorylated by CDK10 \/ CycM, identification of genes whose expression is controlled by CDK10 \/ CycM and functional characterization of mutated forms discovered in patients. The expected results could lead to improved medical follow-up and quality of life for patients. A recent collaboration with Jean Muller<a href=\"https:\/\/www.u1112.inserm.fr\/\">(Medical Genetics Laboratory<\/a>, INSERM \/ University of Strasbourg) also promises to accelerate research.
